Perdue Foods is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic C to keep production running smoothly by maintaining and improving plant equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, calibrations, and installations while supporting reliability within a designated facility area.

This role offers a target wage of $29.80 - $36.80 per hour with overtime potential and a comprehensive benefits package including medical/Rx, 401(k), pension, executive life options, and more.

Qualifications

• Vocational/technical school or equivalent training for 3-4 years in maintenance.
• Reading, writing, and math skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular adjustments, calibrations and repairs from departmental demands during production and non-production hours.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns in a timely manner per safety requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of assigned plant area and position class.
• Serve as subject matter expert on assigned equipment.
• Assist Plant Manager with repairs and parts orders as needed.
• Read and interpret equipment blueprints and manuals for troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with planning for approved repairs and parts.

Summary

Keep production running smoothly by maintaining and improving the equipment that powers our operations. As a Maintenance Mechanic C, you will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, calibrations, and installations while supporting equipment reliability within a designated area of the facility. You will serve as a subject matter expert for your assigned process, helping troubleshoot issues and ensure consistent performance. This role is ideal for a hands‑on, mechanically inclined professional who enjoys problem solving, working with equipment, and contributing to safe, efficient operations.

This position has a target wage of $29.80 - $36.80 per hour, with negotiated increases. Overtime may be available.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

• Perform regular adjustments, calibrations and repairs from departmental demands both during production and non-production hours.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and needs in a timely manner within OSHA lockout/tagout and Perdue safety requirements.
• Hold operational knowledge of assigned plant area as well as position class knowledge.
• Be the subject matter expert on assigned equipment.
• Respond to processing manager’s needs and requests on an as needed basis or through work assignments as assigned by the Plant Manager.
• Read and interpret equipment blueprints, schematic, and operators’ manuals for troubleshooting purposes.
• Communicate with the planning department for all recommended repairs, and or parts that would need to be ordered.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Vocational/technical school or equivalent training for 3-4 years in four areas on the maintenance classification requirements.
• Reading, writing, and math skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3 - 4 years of prior related experience.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

• Exposure to plant seasonal weather and temperatures.
• Noise exposure to 85 db. or more.
• Exposure to chlorinated water of 20 ppm.
• Ability to move throughout the plant on a regular basis.
• Ability to bend, stoop and lift objects as needed.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment.
