Position Available: Maintenance Mechanic B

Responsibilities:

  1. Repair, install, and perform preventive maintenance on all production equipment to ensure optimal operation. Use electrical and mechanical expertise for troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.
  2. Install, operate, maintain, check, and troubleshoot all types of A/C and D/C electrical equipment. Repair solid state, electronic, and mechanical equipment.
  3. Follow safe working practices and report any hazards.
  4. Inspect machines, perform tests, and complete all reports and paperwork as required.
  5. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs according to A.I.B. standards.
  6. Diagnose issues and employ proper troubleshooting procedures to determine parts replacement or repairs needed.
  7. Dismantle, repair, and reassemble gearboxes, fans, conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, and mechanical equipment.
  8. Dismantle, repair, and reassemble electrical motors, relays, timers, and related electrical equipment.
  9. Install and repair electrical conduit, cables, piping, tubing, controls, and grounding.
  10. Operate mobile lift trucks and hoisting equipment; possess knowledge of simple rigging for equipment movement.
  11. Assist in maintaining the spare parts inventory for the plant.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. 2 years of industrial maintenance/electrical experience, preferably in food/beverage processing or packaging environments.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal electric codes.
  • Certified in PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and install complex electrical circuits from wiring diagrams.
  • Experience repairing mechanical and electrical equipment, including gearboxes, fans, conveyors, and more.
  • Experience troubleshooting oven combustion and safety devices.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and compressed air systems, with the ability to read diagrams and troubleshoot.
  • Experience with pneumatic conduit, cables, piping, and tubing installation and repair.
  • Working knowledge of welding (MIG/TIG/ARC), gas & plasma cutting, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
