  • Full Time - 2nd Shift (3pm – 11:30pm)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment assigned to you.
  • Perform machine repairs based on maintenance calls or assignments promptly.
  • Troubleshoot support system problems using basic problem-solving skills.
  • Complete all standard work orders and preventative maintenance tasks, submitting all paperwork.
  • Record information in required logbooks for systems history and continuous improvement.
  • Record parts/components used for repairs to ensure replenishment of on-hand inventory.
  • Ensure quality standards set by the company are maintained after PMs and repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and dispose of replaced parts/components properly.
  • Promote a safe and harmonious work environment, adhering to company policies, procedures, safety, and health regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with S.Q.F. Certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the mechanical field; experience with boilers, air compressors, air handling units, and HVAC is a plus.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Technical training or electrical/mechanical technician degree, or comparable experience.
  • Food manufacturing background is a plus.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks (electric/manual).
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers, instruments, and controls is a plus.

CERTIFICATIONS DESIRED:

  • Ammonia Refrigeration, Boiler First Class or higher, Industrial Electric, PLC Programming

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent.

SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals. Effective communication skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form; problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to walk, stand, handle objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, taste, and smell. Occasionally sit.
  • Lift/move up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 55 lbs frequently, and up to 100 lbs occasionally. May need to lift heavier parts with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move between departments and attend meetings.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work near moving mechanical equipment, often in high places and outdoors. Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals; PPE required.
  • Moderate noise level; hearing protection may be necessary.

Pay: $28.65 - $31.85 USD per hour*

*The hourly rate as indicated in the CBA. The salary range reflects the minimum and maximum for this position. Actual salary varies based on experience, knowledge, skills, education, and internal equity. The total rewards package includes health insurance, retirement plan, wellness programs, paid time off, and holidays.
