Summary Of Position

Performs and assists in preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems within the Chester County Intermediate Unit.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED with appropriate licensing and certification.
• Trade School graduate and/or apprenticeship preferred.
• Certification in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing.
• Five or more years of experience in a commercial setting as an HVAC mechanic, Electrician, or Plumber, including working with boilers, hot water heaters, generators, dish-washing equipment, welding, troubleshooting, and repairing plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Experience with digital and pneumatic controls, working with electrical systems, and electrical infrastructure.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of trade codes and regulations.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Assist and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems.
• Make repairs and alterations to facilities.
• Remove snow as needed.
• Handle furniture, materials, and supplies.
• Repair, install, and maintain equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, talking, listening, repetitive motions, climbing, bending, crawling, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Vision and focus are also necessary.

This is an essential personnel position with deadlines, interactions, and irregular hours.

Salary

$33.19 to $34.49 per hour for 2024-2025.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 260 days per year.
