Maintenance Mechanic A

This position requires working weekends and holidays.

Be prepared to fill out a paper application and participate in an interview lasting about an hour.

Attire: Tops must have either shorts or long sleeves; bottoms must be full length (no tears or damage), and closed-toe shoes are required. Please do not wear jewelry or piercings.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Repair, install, and perform preventive maintenance on all production equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Use electrical and mechanical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain production equipment and accessories.
  • Follow safe work practices; report and repair hazards; inspect machines; complete required reports and paperwork.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs according to industry standards.
  • Diagnose issues and determine necessary parts replacements and repairs.
  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble gearboxes, fans, conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, and mechanical equipment.
  • Repair electrical motors, relays, timers, and related electrical components.
  • Install and repair electrical conduit, cables, piping, tubing, controls, and grounding systems.
  • Operate mobile lift trucks and hoists during maintenance tasks.
  • Utilize basic rigging knowledge for equipment moving and relocation.
  • Assist in maintaining the spare parts inventory.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 4 years of industrial maintenance/electrical experience, preferably in food/beverage processing or packaging.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical codes.
  • Certification in PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley or equivalent).
  • Experience with installing, programming, and troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, and electrical/mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with gearboxes, fans, conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and compressed air systems with the ability to troubleshoot using diagrams.
  • Proficiency with welding equipment (MIG/TIG/ARC), gas & plasma cutting, and power tools.
