Job summary

Evonik seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform specialized maintenance across multiple crafts and achieve equipment reliability. You will apply your knowledge of plant systems and safety to maintain and repair a variety of machinery within the facility.

The role requires 2–3 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read and follow complex instructions. Forklift awareness and welding skills are a plus, and the position emphasizes safe work practices

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.

• Experience operating forklifts preferred.
• 2–3 years of plant mechanic maintenance experience.
• Welding ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor to meet goals and regulations.
• Maintain/repair plant equipment including listed systems and conveyors.
• Keep tools maintained and usable in the plant environment.
• Work safely, wear PPE, and report unsafe conditions.
• Troubleshoot downtime and communicate progress to supervision.
• Demonstrate clear verbal and written communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Manager/Production Head.

Job Description Summary

Performs specialized maintenance and repair services in either multiple crafts (such as electrical, carpentry, welding, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, and millwrighting), or in a single craft but with significant, specialized expertise. Has a sound understanding of the maintenance history of the building, equipment, and other facilities to be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Support the Maintenance Supervisor, in compliance with Porocel policies, organizational goals, and applicable regulations
• Maintain/repair all plant equipment and machinery Baghouses, Calciners, Fans, Pumps, Tubs, Tanks, Conveyors, Belt Dryers, Mills, Screens, Bucket Elevators, Blowers, Mixers, Extruders , Activators, conveying systems, etc.
• Maintain all tools, to be used in plant environment
• Always Work safely . Report anything found to be unsafe to your Supervisor; always wear your safety equipment (safety glasses, steel toe boots, hardhat, and earplugs) and any other PPE, as required.
• Troubleshoot in your work area, communicating with your Supervisor, of any downtime or any trouble that you may have.
• Must have communication skills, verbal as well as written
• Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager and Production Dept. Head

Requirements

• Must have at least a high school diploma/GED
• Drivers License is required
• Experience operating Forklifts Preferred.
• 2-3 years of Plant Mechanic Maintenance work.
• Ability to do some minor welding preferred
• Must have the ability to read and comprehend work and safety instructions and directions.
