NOW HIRING: Food Industry Maintenance Mechanic – $30–$35/hr | 1st & 3rd Shift

Schaumburg, IL

Shift Options:

  • 1st Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 7:30 AM

A premier baking company that supplies fresh-baked bread to a popular sandwich brand is expanding its Maintenance Team. If you have experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a food production or baking environment, you are encouraged to apply.

We seek experienced Maintenance Mechanics skilled in troubleshooting and repairing bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, conveyors, and dividers. This role focuses solely on food manufacturing equipment repair.

Pay Rate: $30 to $35/hr (based on experience, with priority given to baking industry experience)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a food or baking facility
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of GMPs and safety procedures in food environments
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure during fast-paced production cycles
  • Welding, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC experience are a plus

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on production and packaging equipment
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime
  • Replacing and rebuilding worn components using hand and power tools
  • Collaborating with production supervisors and QA to ensure smooth operations
  • Reading schematics and following technical instructions
  • Maintaining accurate repair and parts documentation
