Job summary

Atkore International in Byesville, OH is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve production and facility equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous operations.

The role covers electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, with preventive maintenance, documenting repairs in the CMMS, collaborating with teams, and supporting safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to safely use hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings.
• Ability to document work in the CMMS.
• Willingness to develop advanced troubleshooting and controls skills.
• Ability to work independently after training.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on production and facility equipment with an emphasis on equipment reliability, uptime, quality, and continuous improvement, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspections, identify equipment deficiencies, and complete corrective repairs to improve equipment reliability and prevent unplanned downtime.
• Perform maintenance activities in accordance with established safety procedures and energy-control requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Diagnose, repair, replace, and rebuild electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components and systems.
• Install, modify, and fabricate equipment, components, and systems to meet operating requirements.
• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, wiring, controls, motors, drives, sensors, and related components within the scope of training and qualifications.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance, production, quality, and engineering personnel to diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Clearly document and communicate equipment status, repairs, outstanding deficiencies, and other maintenance activities during shift turnover and to appropriate leadership.
• Support plant-wide safety, quality, reliability, and production objectives through timely maintenance response and effective equipment repairs.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, equipment reliability, productivity, and housekeeping.
• Other tasks as determined by the Maintenance Supervisor.
