Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd Shift

Responsibilities:
- Develop the confidence of other mechanics, employees, and supervisors by demonstrating cooperation, adherence to plant regulations, sanitation, and safety procedures, along with pride in work and employment.
- Assist in installing, overhauling, operating, and performing preventative maintenance on plant equipment to ensure efficient operation with minimal downtime. This includes conveyor/shaker systems, processing equipment, blanchers, palletizers, air cleaners, pumps, filters, air/hydraulic systems, case sealers, etc.
- Help set up production and changeover lines to facilitate efficient daily operations.
- Perform minor building and grounds maintenance activities as needed.
- Detect equipment defects early to prevent major breakdowns.
- Complete training on new and existing equipment and technology to maintain “C” maintenance mechanic status and prepare for “B” status.
- Operate basic shop power tools safely and effectively, such as drill presses and grinders, and perform basic sheet metal fabrication.
- Assist in precision tasks like aligning sprockets and pulleys, and modifying equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by lead personnel or supervisors within the scope of efficient plant operations and skill level.
- Operate a lift truck.
- Follow all safety rules and procedures diligently.
Qualifications:
- Completed one or more years of technical classes in vocational college or possess relevant experience.
- Some knowledge of electric AC/DC power and controls, capable of supporting line installation and repair, including changing and installing motors.
- Experience with welding using MIG wire feed and TIG heliarc technologies, and proficiency with cutting and plasma torches.
- Ability to use mathematics relevant to maintenance tasks.
- Fluent reading, writing, and speaking of English.
- Possess necessary hand tools.
- Demonstrate skill, initiative, and judgment to make minor decisions responsibly.
- Work hours: Monday through Friday, 9:30 pm - 5:30 am CST, with mandatory weekend work during busy seasons and weekend rotations for maintenance.
