The Maintenance Mechanic position reports through the Maintenance Department within the Lawrence Production Center. Individuals in this department provide the necessary skills to install and maintain the production equipment in support of manufacturing.
The Maintenance Mechanic in Lawrence is full time 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday 3:30pm - 12:00am.
The Maintenance Mechanic demonstrates a broad range of mechanical and troubleshooting skills by having the ability to repair equipment that ranges from simplistic (i.e., batch counter) to complex (i.e., troubleshooting PLC/Ladder logic programming). Specialists install machinery and equipment to be used in production or related process by assembling, leveling, and securing the equipment. They are responsible for making electrical, compressed air, gas, and water connections, dismantling machinery as required, transporting, reassembling, and making new connections when moving or disposing of equipment. They repair and maintain machinery/equipment to ensure safety, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications are met. Maintenance Specialists install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, belts, fabricate parts, read schematics, troubleshoot PLCs, and may modify existing equipment or build new machines to enhance capacity, quality, safety, or reduce costs. They instruct operators and Supervisors in the operation of new or modified equipment and work with them until they can operate the equipment safely and satisfactorily. They also handle hazardous waste materials in accordance with regulations, participate in team problem-solving, and proactively work on performance improvements. Flexibility to move between work areas is essential.

Note: All selections are based on skills, competencies, and performance. Color perception testing will be scheduled at the interview. Sign-On Bonus: $250 after 90 days and $750 after 6 months, contingent on satisfactory performance.
