Maintenance Mechanic - 1st Shift (4am - 12:30pm, M-F) - Chittenango, NY

The position offers a sign-on bonus of $1,000.00 and a 5% bonus plan, with an hourly rate of $25-$35.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic performs duties related to installing and troubleshooting plant production equipment. This is a first-shift position working Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.

Major Responsibilities
  • Order and maintain supplies to support maintenance functions.
  • Support startup operations with basic maintenance tasks such as lighting, dust collectors, and air filtration systems.
  • Monitor machines for malfunctions and collaborate with supervisors or maintenance staff to diagnose issues or repair machines.
  • Dismantle defective machinery and install new or repaired parts.
  • Design, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and electronic control systems for production machinery and automated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machine control systems utilizing programmable logic controllers.
  • Maintain the physical structure of the facility.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or related experience and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience as a forklift driver is preferred.
