Job summary

Holly Poultry, Inc. in Hanover, MD is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for the 1st shift to perform skilled maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems in a food production environment.

You will troubleshoot motors, conveyors, pumps, and production lines, read manuals and blueprints, document activities, and help ensure OSHA/USDA food safety standards while supporting continuous operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Proficient with hand tools, multimeters, and basic fabrication.
• Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
• Must lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
• Candidates must pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test and background screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, conveyors, pumps, and food processing equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Replace worn or faulty components such as bearings, belts, and sensors.
• Support installation of new machinery or production lines.
• Document maintenance activities via work orders/logs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, and food safety standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors to minimize downtime.
• Participate in on-the-job training and coursework as required.
• Set up all equipment in both buildings.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems. This role requires working knowledge of food production equipment, preventive maintenance, and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, conveyors, pumps, and food processing equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
• Replace worn or faulty components such as bearings, belts, and sensors
• Support installation of new machinery or production lines
• Document maintenance activities via work orders/logs
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, and food safety standards
• Coordinate with supervisors to minimize downtime
• Participate in on-the-job training and technical coursework as required.
• Able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
• Set up all equipment in both buildings.
• Tig welding/Mig welding/Fabrication experience a plus!
• Electrical trouble shooting/control wiring.
• Plumbing (replace valves, piping, installing water drops, etc).
• Mechanical (repairing or replacing gear reducers, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
