Avantor is seeking a Reliability & Maintenance Mechanic for its Irving, TX facility. This full-time, first-shift role focuses on maintaining and improving equipment across hydraulics, plumbing, electrical, and sheet metal fabrication, with some welding and blueprint interpretation.
Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of mechanical experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and training through an apprenticeship or technical program. On-site facilities maintenance experience is preferred.

Avantor's Biomaterials and Operations team is part of our NuSil Technology business unit. This team supports the maintenance and reliability department by helping with the maintenance and workflow of the facility.
The Reliability & Maintenance Mechanic performs essentially the same duties as a Mechanic, but with limited supervision and a broader range of duties including hydraulics, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. The role involves interpreting blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications, and setting up and operating all tools and equipment necessary to perform work assigned. Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience, and may involve training and overseeing daily duties of Mechanic.
