Job summary

Hallmark Cards in Lawrence, KS seeks a Maintenance Specialist to repair, maintain, and install machinery and equipment. You will assemble, level, and connect equipment and work across areas while prioritizing safety and quality.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems, understands schematics and blueprints, can read ladder logic, and can train operators on new equipment. This is a full-time, on-site role with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years related experience demonstrating mechanical and electrical ability.
• Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift and carry items weighing up to 50-100 lbs frequently and 100+ lbs occasionally.
• Ability to constantly stand and walk; bend, twist, kneel, squat, climb, and reach at/above shoulder level.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Located in Lawrence, Kansas; relocation is not provided.

Job description

As a Maintenance Specialist You Will

• Repair, maintain, and install machinery and equipment
• Assemble, level, and connect equipment (electrical, air, gas, water)
• Dismantle and reassemble machines as needed
• Modify or build new equipment to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
• Train operators and supervisors on new or updated equipment
• Work flexibly across different areas and always prioritize safety
• Perform duties in accordance with sound safety practices.

The Ideal Candidates Is

• Skilled in machinery repair, electrical work, and welding.
• Proficient with electronics, schematics, and ladder logic.
• Experience with lathe, milling machines, and industrial systems.
• Strong in problem-solving, teamwork, and communication.
• Able to read blueprints, follow safety procedures, and handle hazardous materials.

The hours for this position are Monday - Friday 3:30pm - Midnight. Shift may vary +/- 30 minutes on beginning and end of shift time.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

This position is located in Lawrence, Kansas. Relocation is not provided.

• Your performance will be reviewed 6 months back from the date the job posting comes down. You must have been satisfactory in all areas and have no disqualifying CR’s for that full 6-month period in order to be considered.
