Job summary

Danone U.S. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Minster, Ohio plant to keep packaging lines running during 12-hour night shifts. You’ll work on state-of-the-art equipment in a climate-controlled facility and pursue progression toward a State Certified Journeyman Mechanic.

The base rate starts at $38.85/hr with a $1.00/hr shift premium and growth to $43.62/hr plus a $1.00/hr premium as you advance. Comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Preferred: Associates/Bachelors in robotics/automation or engineering
• State Certified Journeyman Mechanic path is available

• Perform CILT (clean, inspect, lubricate, tighten) checks
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment
• Operate and disassemble machinery as needed

We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic based in Minster, Ohio!

Our mechanics work on state of the art equipment in a climate-controlled facility. We also offer the opportunity to learn and grow your income as you earn your State Certified Journeyman Mechanic. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for all emergency and unplanned breakdowns associated with packaging lines. The base rate is $38.85/hr plus $1.00/hr shift premium with the opportunity to grow to a State Certified Journeyman Mechanic at $43.62/hr plus a $1.00/hr shift premium! Specific Job Duties & Tasks:

• Consistently communicate service actions and equipment issues with operators, maintenance, and all corresponding departments (e.g., scheduling, processing, packaging, distribution)
• Follow safety protocols and utilization documents (e.g., safety manuals, manufacturer instructions, diagrams, etc.)
• Perform CILT (i.e., clean, inspect, lubricate, tighten) quality checks on production lines to ensure machinery is properly functioning
• Prevent safety hazards and service requests via proper supervision, observation, and quality checks
• Ask questions regarding equipment failure in order to properly diagnose issues
• Monitor several production lines or utilities systems (if working in utilities) simultaneously
• Evaluate, test and maintain electrical wiring
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment
• Efficiently assemble/disassemble machinery when necessary
• Install specialized equipment, devices, or parts for repairs
• Receive daily reports to verify the status of production lines
• Receive work orders via computer systems or phone
• Document resolutions to equipment failure for future reference
• Remove defective machinery/equipment with industrial trucks (e.g., forklifts, etc.)
• Annually attend in-house trainings (e.g., forklift, automation, welding, ladder, lock-out/tag-out, and safety)
• Cleaning and sanitation tasks (e.g., part lubrication and cleaning, general housekeeping)
• Work 12-hour night shifts, 5:48pm - 6:00am on a 3-2-2 schedule
• Other duties as assigned

About You

Education:

• Minimum Requirement: High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Advanced Education (e.g., Associates, Bachelors, or Technical Degree) or professional licenses/certificates in robotics and automation or engineering (preferred)
  • Recertification is an essential requirement
