Position Summary

Perform setup, routine maintenance, adjustments, troubleshooting, and repairs on liquid fill production line equipment including fillers, cappers, labelers, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical machines.

Responsibilities of the Position
  1. Demonstrate team player qualities such as cooperation, coordination, and professional interaction.
  2. Maintain exceptional attendance, including working eight-hour shifts plus additional hours, on weekends and holidays.
  3. Comply with all safety requirements, including hazard recognition, housekeeping, accident reporting, and proper use of safety equipment.
  4. Change parts, set up, and adjust lines for various products, and monitor line operations.
  5. Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties, and perform necessary repairs and adjustments.
  6. Wash out fillers between products.
  7. Make adjustments for fillers, cappers, and labelers.
  8. Inform supervisors of parts and equipment used and needed for replacements.
  9. Ensure proper torque fills and overall quality by coordinating with quality control.
  10. Perform routine daily maintenance such as greasing, oiling, changing belts, and periodic preventative maintenance.
  11. Handle hazardous, flammable materials in accordance with regulations.
  12. Proficiently perform tasks outlined in the Skill Level Essential Functions table.
Marginal Functions
  • Assist lead operators with production activities such as putting bottles on line, packing, and labeling.
Physical and Environmental Requirements

Includes walking, reaching, grasping, talking, hearing, standing, climbing, stooping, feeling, crawling, lifting small parts (25-60 lbs), and working in environments with noise, temperature variations, moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, and high heat.

Qualifications
  • Reading, writing, basic math skills, and ability to interpret drawings and schedules (equivalent to two years of trade school).
  • Minimum of one year of maintenance/mechanical experience or two-year trade school/Associate Degree in a related mechanical field.
  • Experience with machinery such as fillers, cappers, labelers, banders, tape machines, unscramblers, drills, grinders, and hand tools.
  • No specific licenses or certifications required.
