Job summary

Carmeuse Lime & Stone Inc in Virginia is seeking an experienced maintenance mechanic for the 1st shift to inspect, repair, install and service stationary and mobile equipment across the production floor.

You will diagnose troubles, disassemble machines, replace worn parts, lubricate and adjust components, order replacement parts, and perform all work in accordance with safety procedures to keep critical systems running smoothly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Willing to work weekends and on-call hours.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Safely complete other assigned training.
• Safely meet performance standards and assist as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, install, and service stationary and mobile equipment.
• Repair and maintain machinery such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, and air conditioners.
• Examine mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble and disassemble machines to repair or replace parts.
• Adjust functional parts, clean and lubricate, and order replacement parts.
• Inspect completed repairs and ensure all work follows safety procedures; requisition parts and equipment.

Shift: 1st Shift

Starting Rate: $31.01 per hour

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, inspecting, repairing, installing, and servicing of stationary and mobile equipment; repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, cables, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, air conditioners, etc.; examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble; disassembles machines and repairs or replaces broken parts; adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary; cleans and lubricates parts; orders replacement parts; inspects completed repairs; performs all work in accordance with safety procedures; requisitions new parts and equipment; and other duties as assigned by management.

• Safely complete other assigned training.
• Safely meet the supervisor’s standards of performance.
• Safely fill in as needed during vacation, absences, and increased production demands
• Safely replace or assist other workers as needed.
• Safely perform other tasks as assigned by supervision or designated lead person.
• Valid Driver's License
• Willing to work weekends and on call hours
• 5+ years of mechanical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; willing and able to work rotating shifts
