Job summary

Talent Management Plus, Inc. in Vernon Hills, IL seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to perform general facility and material handling system maintenance in our distribution centers.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting conveyors and forklifts, maintaining HVAC, plumbing and sprinkler systems, and logging all time and parts in the Maintenance Management System. This contract role requires 1-3 years of relevant experience and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of maintenance experience in warehouse/facility settings.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical/hydraulic diagrams and blueprints.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems, forklifts, and battery chargers.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical sprinkler systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on material handling systems.
• Maintain conveyors, forklifts, and battery chargers.
• Maintain general facility equipment including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs and document time, parts, and notes in CMMS.
• Provide maintenance services throughout the facility as assigned.

Job description

Position: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Vernon Hills, IL

Duration: Contract 6 months+

Hours: Mon-Fri 2pm -10:30 PM

Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic performs general maintenance on all facilities and material handling systems in the distribution centers. This role also performs maintenance services for the entire facility.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance as well as mechanical troubleshooting on all material handling systems in the distribution center.
• Maintains conveyor systems, forklifts and battery chargers, etc.
• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on all general facility equipment including HVAC systems, cafeteria equipment, plumbing, etc.
• Participate in the preventative program and be a first responder for problems with emergency fire and sprinkler systems.
• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance in a timely manner including entering all time, parts and comments into a Maintenance Management System.
• Provides maintenance services throughout the facility as assigned.

Required Skills

• 1-3 years of experience providing maintenance to warehouse/manufacturing facilities.
• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints including one or more of the following areas; electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and construction drawings.
• Must have knowledge of maintenance of conveyor systems, forklifts and battery chargers, etc.
• Experience maintaining general facility equipment including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical sprinkler systems, etc.
• Must be comfort working in a warehouse environment which includes changes in temperature as the weather fluctuates, noise form conveyors and forklifts.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
• Must be able to perform 8 or more hours of standing, bending, lifting, walking and carrying products in combination at any given time.

• Maintenance/technology certification, training and/or education preferred.
