A premier yacht service provider located in Florida is seeking a full-time Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair essential equipment including forklifts and lifts. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in equipment maintenance, along with strong mechanical skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing all equipment within the boatyard, including forklifts, scissor lifts, manlifts, travel lifts, and other mechanical systems. The role ensures that all equipment operates efficiently and safely to support daily operations in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on forklifts, scissor lifts, manlifts, travel lifts, and other equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and conduct diagnostics to identify malfunctions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  • Monitor equipment performance and proactively recommend necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations while working on equipment.
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Order parts needed for repairs.
  • Aid in maintaining and organizing the parts room with critical replacement parts and stock items.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical repair is a plus.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in equipment maintenance or a related field, preferably in a boatyard or industrial setting.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in a marine and industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying weather conditions.
  • May involve working in confined spaces, at heights, or in awkward positions.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be necessary.
