Maintenance Mechanic

Commercial Employees (Moncks Corner, SC 29461) is looking for a skilled Maintenance Machinist to join a production facility in Goose Creek. Pay rate $37.21/hr with overtime possible. This role involves fabricating, constructing, and repairing machine parts for a variety of industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with both ferrous and nonferrous materials, as well as plastics and synthetics, while maintaining close tolerances and ensuring equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform layout work and use precision measuring instruments
• Set up, operate, and maintain shop equipment (CNC and conventional lathes, milling machines, grinders, shapers, drill presses, etc.)
• Fabricate, assemble, and repair machine parts to close tolerances
• Heat temper and finish die, tools, and parts
• Diagnose mechanical issues and execute repairs or adjustments
• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and equipment lubrication
• Operate hoists, forklifts, cranes, and other material‑handling equipment
• Participate in safety programs, problem‑solving initiatives, and reliability improvements
• Assist with parts inventory, planning, and job scheduling as needed

Requirements

• 10 years of experience as a machinist in an industrial or maintenance setting
• Graduate of a recognized machinist apprenticeship program
• Strong blueprint reading and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with CNC equipment and precision measuring instruments
