Job summary

Sunny Delight Beverages Company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Dayton, NJ, to set up, repair and install production equipment for continuous operation. The role oversees shift maintenance, reduces downtime, and trains operators in preventive maintenance and problem recognition.

The position requires 2+ years in a high-speed production environment (food/beverage preferred), strong mechanical and shop skills, and the ability to work 12-hour day or night shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical schooling preferred.
• 2+ years as a line mechanic in high-speed production; food manufacturing/bottling preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing and TPM experience a plus; self-motivation and urgency essential.
• Ability to read mechanical diagrams and use shop tools, test equipment.
• Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic controls; skilled in pipe fitting, welding, machining.

Responsibilities

• Set up and repair production equipment to ensure continuous operation.
• Lead maintenance on shift; troubleshoot and reduce downtime.
• Assist operators with preventive maintenance and training.
• Perform running adjustments and corrective actions for maximum safety and quality.
• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs and wear PPE; maintain good attendance.

Maintenance Mechanic

Salary Range: $32.00 To $34.00 Hourly

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for setting up repairs, rebuilding and installing production equipment to insure continuous production of all products. Repairs malfunctioning production equipment; i.e., fillers, conveyors, drives, coolers, palletizing and boxing components. Installs new equipment or replaces equipment as required and sets up line for product changeovers as required. The maintenance Mechanic's is to be the primary technical leader on the shift responsible for all planned maintenance, trouble-shooting, and reducing downtime due to equipment failure. Assists with the training of operators to recognize and report potential equipment malfunctions and failures as well as to ensure knowledge and assist with preventive maintenance. The role requires a person that can analyze mechanical and operational problems and initiate plans for corrective action. Make necessary corrective repairs and running adjustments to maintain maximum production, safety and quality with experience troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding equipment such as mechanical drives, pneumatics, pumps, valves, and conveyors. Machining and fabrication skills are necessary. Previous experience with TPM or Lean Manufacturing a plus. Working knowledge of computers required.

Shifts we are currently looking to fill:

12-hour night shift (6:30pm- 7am) on a 2-2-3 schedule

12- hour day shift (6:30am-7pm) on a 2-2-3 schedule

Salary: $32-$34

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical School preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as a line mechanic in a high-speed production environment; Food manufacturing/bottling preferred.
• Must be self-motivated with a high sense of urgency and possess the ability to work with limited supervision.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and TPM principles preferred.
• Ability to use machine shop equipment, hand tools, power tools and test equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical diagrams.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic controls and components.
• Experience in pipe fitting, welding and machining

Physical Requirements
The role requires the ability to:

• Stand on hard surfaces such as concrete for extended periods, up to 12 hours per shift
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 60 pounds
• Climb stairs, ladders, platforms, and other structures on equipment or buildings to inspect, operate, maintain, or troubleshoot
• Bend at the knees, twist the back, and kneel as needed to access equipment for operation, maintenance, or troubleshooting
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying seasonal temperatures and humidity levels
• Function effectively in areas of high noise while using proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
