Job summary

B&H is seeking a Maintenance MHE Mechanic to maintain and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical aspects of Material Handling Equipment on site. This role covers conveyors, tape machines, and packaging systems, requiring hands-on maintenance and documentable problem resolution.

Responsibilities include adjusting components, cleaning, lubrication, calibration, and ensuring safety procedures are followed with PPE. Shift options include 2nd and 3rd shifts with defined hours.

Qualifications

• Education/work in mechanical or electrical field preferred.
• 5+ years' experience with automated conveyors, industrial controls, PLC programs and MHE safety standards.
• Basic metal fabrication and welding.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical aspects of MHE on site.
• Adjust scanners, cameras, field buses, scales and printer applicators.
• Repair or replace belts, chains, cables, guides, bearings, wheels, rollers, pulleys.
• Clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment.
• Use asset management system to create and close Work Orders with data (labor hours, downtime, problem/cause/remedy, parts used).
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE while maintaining equipment.

Job Overview:

The Maintenance MHE Mechanic will maintain and troubleshoot all electrical and mechanical aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) on site, including conveyor systems, tape machines, bubble machines, box erectors, I-Pack packaging machines and bubble inserters

• Adjust scanners, cameras, field buses, scales and printer applicators
• Reset, repair, or replace adjustable components (belts, chains, cables) and wearing components
  guides, bearings, wheels, rollers, pulleys)
• Clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment
• Use appropriate job plans, procedures, and manuals to conduct maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor
  starters, tachometers, encoders, etc.
• Utilize handheld devices and asset management system mobile apps to create and close Work
  Orders with appropriate data (labor hours, downtime, problem/cause/remedy, and parts used)
• Follow appropriate safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while
  maintaining equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), and ensure a safe work environment by
  eliminating potential equipment safety hazards

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and ability to follow them
• Must be able to work under pressure and exercise good judgement
• PC competency and ability to use mobile apps on handheld devices

Preferred Education, Experience and Licenses:

• Education/course work in Mechanical or Electrical field preferred required
• 5+ years’ experience with automated conveyors, industrial controls, PLC programs and MHE safety standards.
• Basic metal fabrication and welding

Physical Environment/Occupational Risks:

• Warehouse environment
• Regular bending, lifting, standing for long hours, use of hand and power tools
