Sonoco Products Company in Richmond, VA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the Paper plant. The role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting process equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with a strong emphasis on rigging and precise installation of components.
The ideal candidate will have 2-year Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or 3–5 years of relevant experience and own their tools.

Pay: $31.83/hr with potential to increase additional $4.84/hour if completion of Pay-For-Skills.
Shift: Primarily 1st shift, but must be willing to work overtime, including weekends.

This position is in our Paper plant in Richmond, Virginia. This location produces a finished paperboard from recycled paper material. While reporting to the Maintenance Excellence Coordinator, we expect you to have a proven record of quality workmanship, a strong work ethic and ability to work effectively with co-workers and management, and for the safe, efficient performance of all duties, and must be willing to complete all tasks assigned by management. This position requires working alternating weekends, some holidays, and being available to answer call-ins on a rotating basis. Primary shift is day shift. We prefer you to have a 2-year Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field and/or have at least 3 - 5 years minimum work experience in Industrial Maintenance. You must own your own tools.
Rate of pay is currently at $31.83/hour with the option to increase $4.84/hour if completion of Pay-For-Skills.
