Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, through Teledyne MEC, seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to ensure equipment reliability and efficient facility operations on our manufacturing floor.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair components to keep production running safely and smoothly in a fast-paced environment. This role emphasizes hands-on mechanical work and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair skills – required.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions, diagrams, and technical documentation – required.
  • Experience using hand tools, measuring devices, and machine shop equipment – required.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including measurements, formulas, and geometric calculations – required.
  • Ability to identify problems and apply practical solutions in a manufacturing environment – required.
  • Basic computer skills for entering maintenance and timekeeping data – required.
  • 2–4 years of industrial, building, or equipment maintenance experience – required.
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. Applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR.
  • High school diploma or GED – required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment to maximize uptime and reliability.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues by observing equipment operation and identifying the root cause of failures.
  • Dismantle, inspect, repair, and replace defective machinery components.
  • Measure and evaluate worn parts to determine repair or replacement requirements.
  • Adjust equipment and control systems using hand tools, levels, and precision measuring devices.
  • Fabricate, modify, and install replacement parts using machine shop equipment and metalworking tools.
  • Operate equipment such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, and related shop machinery.
  • Test, lubricate, and maintain equipment to verify safe and effective operation.
  • Order maintenance parts and supplies as needed to support repair activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
