Job summary

Ash Grove Cement, a CRH Company, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to install, repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment at our Portland facility. Under supervision, you will follow policies to keep operations safe and efficient.

Shift is Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm, with pay of $34.73 per hour. Benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement plans, paid vacation/holidays, tuition reimbursement and more.

Qualifications

• Analytical, problem solving, detail oriented and strong communication skills are required.
• Familiarity with MSHA rules and regulations is preferred.
• Experience with plant mechanical operations is expected.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Install, dismantle, repair, reassemble, and align machinery, equipment and tools to improve function.
• Repair buildings as needed.
• Solve routine maintenance problems effectively.
• Read and interpret blueprints, charts and tables to perform duties.
• Operate cutting and welding equipment for repairs and other duties.
• Maintain records of parts, materials, and job procedures.
• Clean up after each maintenance job and store tools properly.
• Continuously observe all safety rules and regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Summary

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, installs, repairs, adjusts, and replaces all types of plant machinery, equipment, buildings, and tools.

What you'll be contributing

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Installs dismantle, repairs reassembles, and aligns machinery, equipment, and tools as needed to improve function and operation.
• Repair buildings as needed.
• Solves routine maintenance problems regarding equipment and machinery effectively.
• Performs duties with verbal instructions and/or by reading and interpreting blueprints, charts, and tables.
• Utilizes cutting and welding equipment to perform repairs and other duties performed.
• Maintains proper records of the parts and materials used in maintenance jobs and job procedures.
• Cleans up after each maintenance job is completed.
• Inspects tools for proper operation and stores them in the appropriate manner.
• Continuously observes all safety rules and regulations.
• Additionalduties asassigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position, you will need:

• High school graduation or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledgeable of MSHA rules and regulations.
• Two years related job experience in the maintenance.
• Knowledge and understanding of plant mechanical operations.
• Skills needed include analytical, problem solving, detail orientation, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Work requires walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, working in an awkward position, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license
• Positive attitude well as working with others.
