This role will be hybrid at both the Third Street and Covington facilities to support regular production and the equipment moves associated with execution of future factory vision.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:* Assist production in eliminating work center downtime* Ensure equipment efficiency optimization through cleaning, preventative maintenance, and other necessary tasks* Implement facility improvements through floor grinding, light installation, painting, etc.* Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts* Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections* Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements* Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments* Repair or replace defective parts as needed. Install special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricate and clean parts* Start and run machine tools to test and verify their performance* Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts* May initiate purchase orders for parts and machines. Repairs electrical equipment* Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as machine tools, conveyors, and programmable controllers* Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment* Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables* Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with maintenance team workers, to diagnosis malfunction.* Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices* Replace electric motor bearings* Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatuses* Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment* Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:* Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or three to 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.* Capability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.* Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds*This description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work being performed by employees within this classification.
