Job summary

Crane Pumps & Systems is seeking a maintenance technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure. The role supports production with downtime reduction and equipment moves across the Third Street and Covington facilities in a hybrid work setting.

The position requires an Associate degree (or equivalent) or 3–6 years related experience, lifting up to 30 pounds, and the ability to read safety rules and operation manuals.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Crane Pumps & Systems will only employ those legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and electrical systems.
• Assist production to reduce downtime and optimize equipment efficiency.
• Test malfunctioning machinery and diagnose issues with the maintenance team.
• Set up and operate metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Dismantle devices to access defective parts and replace components as needed.

Job description

BASIC FUNCTION:Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments. This role will be hybrid at both the Third Street and Covington facilities to support regular production and the equipment moves associated with execution of future factory vision.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Assist production in eliminating work center downtimeEnsure equipment efficiency optimization through cleaning, preventative maintenance, and other necessary tasksImplement facility improvements through floor grinding, light installation, painting, etc.Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective partsExamine form and texture of parts to detect imperfectionsInspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirementsAdjust functional parts of devices and control instrumentsRepair or replace defective parts as needed. Install special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricate and clean partsStart and run machine tools to test and verify their performanceSet up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to make and repair partsMay initiate purchase orders for parts and machines. Repairs electrical equipmentInstall power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as machine tools, conveyors, and programmable controllersConnect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipmentDiagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cablesTest malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with maintenance team workers, to diagnosis malfunction.Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devicesReplace electric motor bearingsPlan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatusesDiagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipmentOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or three to 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Capability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Must be able to lift up to 30 poundsWork AuthorizationCrane Pumps & Systems will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States.
