Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Job Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance or heavy equipment experience required
• Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics
• Basic understanding of electrical systems
• Comfortable with computers
• Capable of operating hand, power, and specialized tools
• Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (we use Tabware)
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Team player and willing to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• High school diploma or GED
• Advanced technical or college training preferred
• Experience with food processing equipment is a plus but not required

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Job Duties

• Maintain industrial equipment and repair or replace malfunctioning machinery
• Inspect equipment regularly and document test results and work order resolutions
• Shut down and disassemble machinery as needed
• Order and install replacement parts to keep equipment functioning properly
• Ensure operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, following diagrams, manuals, and specifications; troubleshoot malfunctions
• Locate problems by observing devices, listening for issues, and using testing instruments
• Remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and tools; examine parts for form and texture
• Determine dimensional changes by inspecting parts with measuring instruments
• Adjust devices and control instruments using hand tools and levels
