Job summary

Commonwealth Rolled Products Inc. seeks a skilled mechanical maintenance technician to support the manufacturing plant in Kentucky. The role involves brazing, welding, cutting, soldering, and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems, along with preventive maintenance and logbook reporting.

You will perform heavy rigging, scaffolding, crane operations, and use precision measuring tools while adhering to safety rules. Flexibility to rotate day/evening/night shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Three years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment or graduation from a mechanical program from a technical college.
• Must meet or exceed the pre-placement assessment requirements.
• Ability to perform physical and labor-intensive tasks.
• Flexibility in working hours including day, evening and night rotating shifts, daily overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to adjust to the changing needs of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Braze, weld, cut, solder and metalize as required to effect repairs; disassemble, repair, assemble and adjust hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, fill out log book and other related reports.
• Make up slings and splices; perform heavy rigging; erect and disassemble scaffolding as required; operate crane, trucks and material handling equipment.
• Notify appropriate personnel of irregularities in equipment or materials; maintain clean and orderly shop/work areas; observe safety rules.
• Familiar with power saws, drills, hammers, presses and grinders, ovens, dip tanks, dynamic balancer, as well as hand/power tools and measuring instruments.

Job description

• Braze, weld, cut, solder and metalize as required to effect repairs; disassemble, repair, assemble and adjust hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required, fill out log book and other related reports.
• Make up slings and splices; perform heavy rigging; erect and disassemble scaffolding as required by work; use crane, trucks and materials handling equipment in conjunction with assigned work.
• Notify appropriate personnel of irregularities in equipment or materials; maintain clean and orderly conditions in shop and work areas; observe all safety rules.
• Familiar with power saws, drills, hammers, presses and grinders, ovens, dip tanks, dynamic balancer, gas and electric welding and cutting equipment, dial indicators, rules, tapes, micrometers, squares, levels, flow and pressure meters, lubricating equipment, handling equipment such as jacks, hoists, cranes and trucks; hand and powered cleaning tools; hand tools common to the trade and P.C.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least three years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment and/or graduated from a mechanical program from a technical college required.
