Job summary

Westlake’s maintenance technician role involves installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production machines and plant facilities to support site goals.

The job requires diverse mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic skills, with experience in a manufacturing setting and ability to read manuals, work orders, and BOMs. Proactive preventive maintenance and safety are emphasized across two Dimex locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in manufacturing with mechanical skills or completion of a mechanical trades program.
• Electrical maintenance experience is a plus.
• Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills.
• Ability to read equipment manuals and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain production machines and plant equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as greasing bearings and changing filters.
• Diagnose problems, replace parts, test and adjust equipment.
• Operate with CMMS to input maintenance results/history and review BOMs.

We work together to enhance peoples' lives through our products and presence in the communities in which we operate.General Responsibilities:The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment to support the site’s business goals and objectives.Examples of Key Activities:Job Requirements:All work must be completed following applicable safety requirementsPerform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.Perform simple preventative maintenance needs such as greasing/lubricating bearings, changing filters, etc.Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.Read and interpret equipment manuals, PM’s and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.Work with Computerized Maintenance Management System with input of maintenance results/history, review of BOM parts, history, and scheduled WO.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. During troubleshooting there is a possibility of live voltage of various levels that must be avoided. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Use of appropriate PPE including steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection and additional equipment as required to minimize the hazard.
