Job summary

Arnold Magnetic Technologies in Marietta, OH is seeking an entry level Maintenance Mechanic to support production and facility equipment through preventive maintenance and timely repairs.

You will diagnose problems, perform routine maintenance, use hands and power tools, and adhere to safety policies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires ability to lift heavy loads and work both independently and in teams, with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Certificate in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain production machines and plant equipment.
  • Provide emergency and scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
  • Diagnose problems and replace worn parts.
  • Read and interpret manuals and work orders.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and facilities.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Use hand and power tools and measuring devices.
  • Lift up to 75 pounds; work in a manufacturing environment.

Job description

Summary of Position:

The entry level Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair & maintain production & facility equipment according to safety, predictive & productive maintenance systems & processes to the to support the achievement of the site’s business goals & objectives.

Duties Of Position
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install & maintain production machines & the plant facility’s equipment
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production & performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Perform simple machinist duties & responsibilities
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting & repair of production machines
  • Read & interpret equipment manuals & work orders to perform required maintenance & service
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test & make adjustments
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment & plant facilities
  • Use a variety of hand & power tools, electric meters & material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Adhere to all safety policies; identify & report unsafe co nditions to Supervisor
  • Maintain a safe clean & organized work area
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Education Requirements
  • Certificate in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED & completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education & production maintenance experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc., with precision
  • Ability to work on teams or alone
  • Ability to read & perform basic mathematics
  • Basic computer skills
Working Conditions
  • May be exposed to loud noises, dirt, dust & fumes; moving mechanical parts & vibration
  • Production floor is not temperature controlled year round
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift &/or move minimum 75 pounds for most machinery
  • This position is very active & requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, & climbing all day
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception & ability to adjust focus
