Position Description

Performs a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the healthcare campus to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Works under the supervision of a maintenance supervisor or lead technician, assisting with routine upkeep of building systems and equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform routine inspections and minor repairs on building fixtures and systems, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, such as inspecting and replacing air filters, lubricating equipment, and checking fluid levels.
• Conduct minor repairs on interior and exterior surfaces, including painting, drywall patching, and flooring repairs.
• Respond to service calls and work orders, documenting work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Assist skilled trades technicians with complex repairs and projects as needed.
• Perform routine safety checks and assemble, move, and set up furniture and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of mechanical spaces and work areas.
• Follow hospital Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) protocols and safety procedures.
• Coordinate work with clinical staff to minimize disruption to patient care.
• Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
