Job summary

MegaFood, a Longstanding maker of quality supplements, seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to support reliability of manufacturing equipment and systems. You will collaborate with Engineering and Operations to keep production safe and efficient while maintaining quality standards.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, strong electrical/mechanical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read diagrams and operate CMMS/ERP systems. Evening shift and 5% travel are possible.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of related maintenance experience required.
• Basic electrical knowledge and reading of diagrams.
• Strong safety mindset with ability to follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Support preventive and corrective maintenance schedules and respond to production requests.
• Repair and maintain production equipment (valves, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, lubrication routes, cam) per manuals.
• Report safety hazards to Maintenance Manager and generate follow-up work orders.
• Maintain cleaning/sanitation and proper hygiene in maintenance areas.
• Oversee outside contractors, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Document repairs in CMMS and monitor asset reliability.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic Team is responsible for the reliability and maintenance of all manufacturing equipment and systems. The Team collaborates with Engineering and Operations to ensure that the manufacturing operations run safely, producing quality vitamins efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and assist with preventative and corrective maintenance schedules, responding to production requests as necessary.
• Repairs and maintains production equipment (valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor/gearbox replacement, lube routes, cam replacement, etc.) in accordance with diagrams, sketches, and operations manuals
• Report safety and operational hazards to the Maintenance Manager and generate follow-up work orders for resolution.
• Maintain cleaning and sanitation standards in maintenance areas in line with plant quality requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all work areas.
• Ensure the upkeep of all facility equipment, including building, production, and utility systems, with minimal supervision.
• Conduct regular checks of plant equipment on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.
• Document all equipment repairs using CMMS.
• Promote safety and environmental practices while ensuring proper care and maintenance of tools and supplies.
• Assist in developing maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Identify and implement corrective actions for equipment failures independently.
• Manage and oversee outside service contractors performing maintenance tasks at MegaFood facilities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Comply with industry safety regulations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Effectively manage time and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience is required
• 1-3 years related experience is required
• Relevant maintenance certifications are a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic electrical knowledge. Ability to identify mechanical and electrical defects in equipment. Effective time management and coordination skills when working with team members. Familiarity with automation and control systems in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs (Allen-Bradley) and motor drives. Experience in using and maintaining hand and power tools; machining, fabrication, and welding skills are a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Capacity to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and P&IDs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organization. Good interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork. Capability to understand and follow standard operating procedures from both verbal and written instructions. Proficient in computer applications (Office Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook) and CMMS or ERP systems.

Physical or Work Requirements

Must be able to work 3 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Performs work in manufacturing, warehouse, or production environments and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and repetitive motion throughout the shift. Employees may be required to operate machinery or powered equipment, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, moving equipment, or manufacturing materials, and lift or move materials weighing up to 25–50 pounds. Some roles may require overtime, shift work, weekends, or extended schedules based on business needs. Travel 5%.

National Target Base Pay Range: $53,000.00 - $88,000.00. The salary range for this position is based on national standards. For candidates in California and the New York metro, the Target Base Pay Range is $59,000.00 - $98,000.00, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas. Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications, and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
