Job summary

Smurfit WestRock Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Seminole Mill to perform routine and troubleshooting tasks on mill equipment in a multi-craft environment. This role supports a team-based setting and emphasizes safety and reliability in daily operations.

The position requires extensive industrial experience with bearings, pumps, hydraulics/pneumatics, pipe fitting, and portable tools, along with the ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment and communicate

Qualifications

• Extensive industrial experience in at least one of Machinist, Welding, or Industrial Operations.
• Able to work in a heavy manufacturing setting.
• Good communication and teamwork in a multi-craft environment.
• Must have at least 5 years hands-on experience in: applied mathematics, measurements, use of portable and hand tools, lubricants, bearings & seals, pumps and motors, hydraulics & pneumatics, pipe fitting, and industrial operations.

Responsibilities

• Create maintenance requests for repairs based on findings with equipment in the mill.
• Perform maintenance tasks for equipment within the mill.
• Work as a team with other maintenance team members.
• Adhere to safety topics such as lockout, fall protection, confined space entry, PPE, and guarding.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician will perform routine and trouble-shooting tasks for equipment at the Seminole Mill. This position requires the flexibility to work in a multi-craft role and contributes to accomplishing results in a team-based environment.

(New employees commonly earn $42.33/Hour - plus OVERTIME with yearly increases.)

How you will impact Smurfit WestRock:

• Create maintenance requests for repairs based on findings with equipment in the mill.
• Perform maintenance tasks for equipment within the mill.
• Work as a team with other maintenance team members.
• Extensive experience dealing with basic industrial safety topics such as lockout, fall protection, confined space entry, personal protective equipment, and guarding.

What you need to succeed:

Extensive industrial experience in at least 1 of the following areas is required:

• Machinist
• Welding
• Industrial Operations

Able to work in a heavy manufacturing setting.

Able to work and communicate effectively in team-based environment.

Reliable, dependable, and available for work in all areas of the mill.

Manufacturing or Paper Mill Experience preferred

Must have at least 5 yearsof hands-on, documented experience in the following:

• Applied Mathematics
• Measurements – Layout skills
• Use of Portable Tools & Hand Tools
• Selecting and Using Lubricants
• Installation of Bearings & Seals
• Understanding the Operation of Pumps
• Pump & Motor Component Assembly
• Basic Hydraulics & Pneumatics
• IndustrialPipe fitting– tubing & hose systems, plumbing systems, installation & maintenance of valves
• Industrial Operations
• Powered Industrial Trucks/ Heavy Mobile Equipment Maintenance

Physical & Other Requirements

• Standing for extended periods.
• Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
• Moving or lifting of equipment, materials, and tools up to 50 lbs. repeatedly for a 12-hr. shift.
• Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or movement within confined areas.
• Work in buildings and areas of fluctuating temperature and weather.
• Must be able to enter a confined space or work in high elevated areas
