Job summary

Ventura Foods is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Mitchellville, IA facility to maintain production equipment and power lift systems. You will perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance, reading schematics and instructions to support safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Know and apply mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic maintenance practices.
• Read written specifications and instructions; read and interpret drawings, schematics and blueprints.
• Read and interpret labels and MSDS sheets for chemicals/solvents involved.
• Be trained and certified to operate powered fork trucks and pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

• Adjust, repair and maintain production equipment using generally recognized maintenance practices.
• Perform periodic preventive maintenance activities.
• Assist operating personnel with running adjustments as instructed.
• Know and apply safety rules and procedures; adhere to Lockout/Tagout.
• Travel up to 10% between buildings.

Apply mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance practices.**PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES*** Adjust, repair and maintain production equipment using generally recognized maintenance practices. Perform periodic preventive maintenance activities.
