Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions in Indianapolis is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service can assembly presses. You will read schematics, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and fabricate parts for maintenance and setup while ensuring safety devices operate correctly.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ maintenance experience on Can Assembly Presses in manufacturing, or equivalent training/experience.
• Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts and diagrams.
• Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters and hydraulic gauges.
• Basic understanding of systems, equipment and schematics; strong troubleshooting skills.
• Committed to safety, housekeeping and company policies.

• Troubleshoot, rebuild, repair and improve all machinery without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Able to use all equipment and machinery, and understand and read all schematics and drawings, related to the trade requirements
• Troubleshoot, rebuild, repair and improve all active and new machinery and equipment without supervision
• Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required for maintenance and setup of machines
• Ensure operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modification and installations
• Committed to continuous improvement on machinery, equipment and processes, via preventative and predictive maintenance on production and production supporting equipment
• Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
• Has an exemplary attitude towards housekeeping, safety and company policies

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5 years’ experience in a maintenance of Can Assembly Presses within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Maintenance and repair of waxers, scroll shears and Cone Top presses.
• Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blue prints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.
• Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges
• Basic understanding of systems, equipment and schematics
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good troubleshooting skills
• Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions
• Ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties
