Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Kentucky is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform general maintenance duties across the warehouse. You will maintain power equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and support safe, professional operations.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years mechanical experience, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. The role offers weekly pay and a strong benefits package including health, retirement, and stock programs.

• Operate equipment safely after training and read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of power equipment including forklift, pallet jacks, sweeper, scrubber, tugger, reach trucks, wrap machines, dock lock, leveler, and clamp attachments.
• Perform preventative maintenance on power equipment.
• Perform general warehouse maintenance and minor repairs.
• Follow maintenance programs including recycling, lock out/tag out procedures and hazardous materials.
• Operate powered equipment and read schematics.
• Be responsible for minor facility and equipment repairs.
• Accommodate flexible schedules to include nights, weekends, holidays and on-call.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining cleanliness of power equipment including: forklift, pallet jacks, sweeper, scrubber, tugger, reach trucks, wrap machines, dock lock, leveler, and clamp attachments.
• Perform preventative maintenance on power equipment.
• Perform general warehouse maintenance duties to maintain a safe and professional work environment both in and outside the warehouse, including assisting with equipment maintenance and minor building and equipment repairs.
• Possess a level of proficiency in all maintenance required programs including the recycling programs, lock out/tag out procedures and hazardous materials.
• Operate powered equipment including: forklift, pallet jack, tugger, clamp attachments and sweeper/scrubber.
• Read schematics
• Responsible for minor facility and equipment repairs
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to include nights, weekends, holidays and on-call requests.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience is a plus.
• Previous mechanical experience 1 to 2 years.
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to use email, word-processing, spreadsheets, WMS and other applications
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the member to include nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work in warehouse environment which includes heat, cold, noise, dust
• Utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, etc.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally
• Sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
• Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
• Endurance for continuous, fast paced work
• Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
• Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
• Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position.
