POSITION PURPOSE
The Maintenance Mechanic, under general supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, performs skilled work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of hospital equipment and systems. Maintains electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other related systems.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Vocational or Technical training in maintenance or a related field .
Experience: Three years of experience in maintenance or related field , at least one year in a healthcare setting.
Licensure/Certification: Valid driver's license required.
Required Skills: Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Basic computer skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent: standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching & climbing.
Occasional: sitting, bending, squatting, kneeling & twisting
Visual and hearing acuity required: Work is both inside and outside.
Possible exposure to: loud noise, extreme temperatures, toxic/caustic chemicals or detergents, moving mechanical parts, potential electric shock, radiant energy, communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens
