Job summary

SCI, located in Huntsville, AL, seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain the facility’s structure, equipment and grounds. Shift: 5C, Monday–Friday. U.S. citizenship is required for this ITAR facility.

Responsibilities include general facility maintenance, carpentry/painting, plumbing and wiring support for production, blueprint reading, and inspections to determine repair needs. Minimum HS diploma and 1–2 years related experience requested.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of related maintenance experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• General facility maintenance.
• Performs other skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures.
• Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process.
• Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary.
• Works from basic blueprints, drawings or rough sketches.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
