Maintenance Technician

Position Objective:

Conduct maintenance of mechanical processes in a manner that will ensure the highest reliability. Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors systems and production machines and equipment. Observe mechanical equipment in operation and troubleshoot failures.

Maintenance

    • Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools and power tools.
    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various mechanical systems, pumps, motors, and electrical issues.
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with temperature control systems, inline weigh scales, and vacuum systems.
    • Conduct routine inspections and testing of mechanical systems to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
    • Collaborate with engineering team to design and implement solutions for complex mechanical system problems.
    • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and testing results.
    • Assist in the development of procedures and standards for maintenance and repair of mechanical systems.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
    • Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
    • Repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances.
    • Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
    • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning apparatus such as, motors, drives, starters, and process instruments.
    • Replace/repair/calibrate faulty electrical and instrumentation components such as relays, switches, contactors, solenoids, photo eyes, flow meters, level, and pressure indicators/transmitters, RTD’s, etc.
    • Observe production equipment in operation and troubleshoot equipment failures.
    • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
    • Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
    • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
    • Repair or replace defective parts. Install special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricate and clean parts.
    • Start devices to test their performance.

  • Comply with HR policies and procedures.
  • Comply with relevant employment laws.

Other

  • Ensure that all safe work procedures and security guidelines are adhered to.
  • Participate in sharing of knowledge so as to enhance development of the maintenance team.
  • Regularly communicate with other employees regarding ongoing repairs, including status of repair or part request.
  • Exceptional ability to perform in a noisy, humid, hot and high volume machine production environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED

  • 2+ years of experience as a Maintenance/Mechanical Technician or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, and conveyor systems
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols
  • Precision maintenance
  • Light welding experience.
  • Basic electrical and instrumentation knowledge.
  • Experience in food processing.
