ROLE OVERVIEW: To maintain equipment, trailers, and grounds facility to provide an efficient and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform all necessary repairs for the facility including mechanical, electrical, support equipment repairs, building, grounds, and trailers maintenance.
2. Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble.
3. Dismantle or partly dismantle machines and perform repairs.
4. Replace broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock.
5. Assist with the inventory of replacement parts.
6. Perform preventative maintenance on machining.
7. Report any faulty or inefficient equipment and schedule for repair.
8. Provide support to production personnel by answering breakdown assistance calls.
9. Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and provide solutions.
10. Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures when working on equipment.
11. Follow department and company policies and procedures.
12. Follow safety rules and regulations.
13. Report all safety issues to Production Manager or General Manager.
14. May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Education and Experience:

1. High School diploma. Mechanical/Electrical Training Certification or equivalent work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
2. Minimum of 5 years working as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
2. Experience in working with low voltage machinery and equipment such as Baler, Industrial saws, Guillotine cutters, Down Stroke Balers and Material Handling equipment.
3. Ability to read schematics and work with PLCs.
4. Knowledge of working with several various hand & power tools.
5. DOT compliance knowledge preferred.
