Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair gear, conveyors, PLCs and related equipment in our distribution center. The role requires mechanical and electrical expertise, reading schematics, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent required.
• 2 year vocational technical certificate or degree in mechanical or electrical area preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in maintenance/repair.
• Welding, burning, cutting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes and PLC controls.
• Familiarity with DC-specific software packages (e.g., Crown PM, Gage).
• Able to read electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Safety-conscious with strong OSHA awareness.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Experience with LOTO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety requirements and OSHA standards with LOTO.
• Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of facility equipment and conveyance systems.
• Document work performed and report spare parts usage for inventory control.
• Train junior technicians to improve troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Collaborate with outside vendors to complete DC projects safely and on time.
• Perform additional duties to support DC operations.

OVERVIEW

Shift: 2B: Tuesday - Friday 5:30p - 3:30a

Rate: $29.55/hr. + $1/hr. shift dif

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems within the facility. Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system. Areas of expertise must include PLC’s, conveyors, 3 phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and any other related equipment.
• Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership to help ensure spare parts inventory is maintained.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians in order to elevate their performance level while troubleshooting and repairing any related assets.
• Work closely with outside vendors in order to complete projects within the DCs in a safe and timely manor.
• Take on other duties as needed to support the DC and it’s operational needs

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s Degree
• 2 year vocational technical certificate or degree preferably in a mechanical or electrical application
• 3-5 years of experience
• Welding, burning, cutting
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes & PLC controls
• Familiar with DC-specific specialized software packages (ex. Crown PM, Gage) & equipment
• Able to read & understand electrical mechanical building type drawings/schematics
• Good safety awareness
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull & lift up to 75 lbs.
• Experience with LOTO

Targeted Pay Range: $29.55 - $42.90. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and position offered. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
