Our team focuses on indoor maintenance of a historic hospital and supports facility compliance through management and completion of preventative maintenance and work orders in a safe and professional manner.

We have a supportive leadership team and offer scheduling flexibility when needed.

Summary

Responsible for light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks completed in a safe, professional manner. Contribute to the facility by providing quick response to repair requests, maximizing equipment lifespan, preventing downtime, and troubleshooting.

Job Description
  • Must take extra precautions when working in patient/resident care areas and specifically keep tools out of the reach of children.
  • Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices, and gauges.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals is helpful.
  • Must be able to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting, and function with safety, moral, and efficiency of the department in mind.
  • Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled.
  • Must comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code. Must understand written and verbal communications. Good written and oral communication skills required.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision. Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances.
  • Depending on facility size, additional duties may include installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, maintaining campus grounds, and performing electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance.
  • May require on-call duties as needed or as directed by the department.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Trade school or vocational school preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience in building systems preferred.
  • Depending on location, a valid driver's license and a good driving record may be required.
