Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic at the Doswell Quarry to repair and maintain plant equipment, conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes. The role includes preventative maintenance, fabrication, welding, and simple diagnostics in a safety-conscious environment.

The position runs Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–4:30 PM, with a competitive hourly wage between $25.50 and $31.00 plus benefits. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and welding experience; mining experience

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of welding and maintenance experience.
• Experience in mining industry preferred; welding certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain stationary and mobile plant equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on processing equipment.
• Operate loaders and haul trucks safely when needed.
• Complete required paperwork and inspections.
• Assist in training coworkers.
• Follow MSHA safety inspections.

Martin Marietta is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently repairing and maintaining plant industrial equipment and machinery. The maintenance mechanic position is responsible for repairing and maintaining stationary machinery, mobile equipment, and mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems, shakers, pumps, gearboxes, etc. This position is also responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of aggregate plant processing equipment and repair of mobile equipment.

Doswell Quarry

Hours: 6:30AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Friday

A typical day for a(n) Maintenance Mechanic may include:

Performing various roles, including fabrication, welding, cutting, greasing, housekeeping and various other shop or processing duties

Maximizing performance of equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis

Performing simple and intermediate type diagnosis/repairs without constant supervision

Utilizing electrical and pressure testing equipment within the company guidelines and safety standards

Completing required paperwork to maintain equipment and to run the plant according to Martin Marietta Materials standards

Performing erection of processing equipment and makes repairs to processing equipment and mobile equipment

Conducting MSHA pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and work area

Operating other equipment such as loaders and haul trucks in a safe manner as needed

Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed

Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

You may be a good fit if you:

Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position

Have one (1) year of experience in welding and maintenance

Have experience in welding and maintenance in the mining industry (preferred)

Possess a welding certification (a plus)

We are excited to share the base range for this position is $25.50 - $31.00, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
