Job summary

Luvata Ohio, Inc. in Delaware, Ohio, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The role focuses on maintaining plant systems and equipment, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and supporting production and service operations.

You will work with high-speed equipment, high-pressure systems, and various plant utilities, applying mechanical and electrical skills. On-call duties and accurate labor reporting are part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Able to lift 100 pounds, push/pull 300 pounds, and perform physical tasks.
• Work around hot metal equipment, lift equipment on building roof.
• Strong problem-solving ability is essential.
• Electrical/Electronic experience helpful.
• Computer skills required.
• Strong math aptitude preferred.
• Solid mechanical skills and technical reading ability.
• Able to interpret drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant systems, machinery, equipment, and related devices.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Interpret instructions, drawings and manuals for maintenance tasks.
• Use various hand and powered tools, pullers, jacks and measuring devices.
• Ensure safe, clean, and orderly work area; report progress to supervisor.
• Respond to on-call pages as required and document labor hours.

What you'll be doing:

Applies knowledge and experience in plant systems and equipment to meet the maintenance support needs of Luvata Ohio, Inc.

• Maintains some of the physical plant, machinery, equipment, and miscellaneous devices used for plant utilities, plant systems, and all production, service, and administrative departments.
• Uses preventive and corrective maintenance techniques to troubleshoot and repair some of the machinery and equipment throughout the facility.
• Uses preventive and corrective maintenance techniques to troubleshoot and repair some of the machinery and equipment throughout the facility.
• Uses miscellaneous hand and powered tools, pullers, jacks, rigging devices, fork trucks, calipers, measuring devices, and basic machine tools.
• Performs all job duties in accordance with applicable standards, techniques, drawings, and equipment specifications, and is able to interpret instructions, drawings, and guidance manuals.
• Works routinely with high speed equipment, high pressure systems, structural members, piping, valves, gauges, and miscellaneous devices.
• Assists in maintaining safe and orderly working conditions and performs work in such a manner as to not endanger oneself or fellow employees.
• Responsible for cleanup and general housekeeping of work area.
• Responsible for keeping supervisor informed of work-related problems and the progress of work assignments.
• Works under general supervision with guidance and instruction provided on most work assignments. Familiarity with all plant equipment and building systems is not required.
• Responds, as required, to telephone pages when assigned to be "on call".
• Maintains a record of labor hours spent on specific jobs and fills out reports as required.

Additional Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
• Able to lift 100 pounds, push/pull 300 pounds, lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and otherwise position items being worked upon
• Able to work around hot metal equipment, on lift equipment in the building ceiling, and on the building roof
• Good problem-solving skills
• Electrical/Electronic experience
• Computer operating skills required
• High aptitude for math is preferred
• Solid mechanical skills
• Proficiency in technical reading a must
