Job summary

Wonderful Citrus in Delano, CA seeks a maintenance technician to perform preventive/predictive maintenance on automated food processing equipment. You ensure safety, quality, and machine efficiency while working second shift.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; utilizing thermal, vibration and ultrasonic tools for condition monitoring; and documenting work in CMMS. Opportunities for growth and on-site perks are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Technical degree preferred with 3+ years of related maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Strong English communication skills; bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive/predictive maintenance on automated equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Use thermal imaging, vibration analysis and ultrasonics for condition monitoring.
• Create/modify work orders in CMMS and document work performed.
• Train operators and maintenance staff; provide safety in daily tasks.

Job description

Overview:

Individual will perform preventative/predictive maintenance, repairs and improvements on industrial equipment in an automated food processing facility while keeping a high regard for employee safety, food quality and machine efficiency.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Ensures self and coworkers are compliant with all safety rules and regulations (LOTO, fall protection, hot work, etc.)
• Perform uptime and downtime inspections, lubrications, and preventative maintenance
• Utilize predictive technologies such as thermal imaging, vibration analysis, and ultrasonics to gain an understanding of machine condition and estimated lifespan
• Troubleshoot and perform corrective work on all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems within the facility
• Identify and execute improvements on equipment, documentation, work systems, and processes
• Collaborates with different levels of employees in various departments of the facility through face-to-face, telephone, email and radio communications
• Provide training and development to operators and other maintenance personnel
• Research system and component specifications using equipment manuals, schematics, parts breakdowns, online information, and vendor communication
• Dismantle and reassemble complex pieces of machinery in an efficient, precise and reliable manner
• Operates cutting, welding, and various other fabrication equipment to cut, form, and/or join materials
• Creates/modifies work orders in Computerized Maintenance Management System, and documents details of work performed
• Submits parts requests
• Escalate technical, procedural, and personnel related issues to direct lead or supervisor as necessary
• Work with moral integrity on a consistent basis
• Performs other assigned duties and projects
• Other duties as assigned

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required
• Technical degree and three years or more of related experience and/or training in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Effective English communication is a must, bilingual is preferred
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is preferred.
• Stand and/or walk for up to 12-hour shift.
• Drive vehicles.
• Climb on a ladder or scaffolding to heights in excess of 10', balance, and work above the shoulders frequently.
• Bend/stoop, kneel, crouch, and squat frequently for extended periods of time
• Use both hands for frequent grasping and occasional fine manipulation and fingering.
• Occasionally carry and lift up to 50 pounds above the shoulders.
• Occasionally push or pull various items, such as equipment, filters, motors, tools, and compressors pumps up to 75 pounds.
• Work at heights.
• Tolerate required personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, work gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, dust masks, and safety harnesses on a continuous basis.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Work Environment: Moving mechanical parts, Heights, rapidly flashing lights, Low visibility areas, High decibel, machinery, Heavy forklift traffic, uncomfortably warm or cold environments

Pay Range: $29.87 - $33.06 an hour. Final Compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.

Shift: This position is scheduled for second shift, from 2:00 PM to 12:20 AM. Schedule may vary based on business needs.
