Job summary

Huhtamaki is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our Kansas facility. You will repair and maintain production machinery, inspect for faults, and troubleshoot to minimize downtime in our manufacturing environment.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read blueprints. Forklift operation and tool handling skills are a plus; you must be able to work a 12-hour shift and overtime when needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience with machinery, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and understand written or oral instructions and blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and follow safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain machinery and equipment on the shop floor per diagrams and manuals.
  • Visually inspect machines to locate malfunctions and troubleshoot.
  • Dismantle machines to access problem areas using hand and power tools.
  • Inspect parts for wear and misalignment; replace worn components as needed.
  • Operate forklift and other lifts; comply with annual certifications.
  • Follow all safety policies and company guidelines.
  • Work a 12-hour shift schedule and overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following.
  • Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as production machines, conveyor systems and equipment.
  • Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
  • Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
  • Removes and replaces worn and defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system, using hand tools and power tools, and following blueprints, diagrams, and service manuals.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour shift schedule.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance with exposure to machinery, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • The ability to read, understand and comprehend written or oral instruction, technical data, blue prints, etc. and the ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Must have own tools and possess good mechanical aptitude to be able to troubleshoot machinery.
  • Ability to properly use all power and non-power hand tools to safely perform job tasks.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift, boom lift and obtain annual certification.
Physical Requirements

Employee will work in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., standing, walking, climbing, bending, twisting, crouching, push/pull, reach above shoulders a great amount of time and hand/finger dexterity required.
