Job summary

American Concrete Products in Dallas, Texas is seeking a skilled maintenance mechanic to maintain and repair forms, machinery, equipment, and facilities, ensuring smooth operations and maximizing productivity.

You will troubleshoot plant equipment such as mixers, batch plants, hydraulic systems, and motors; perform basic mechanical tasks; support preventative maintenance; and help keep tools, parts, and the shop organized while following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance, mechanic, or industrial maintenance in a plant environment.
• Experience with diesel engines on heavy equipment preferred.
• SMAW and MIG welding experience a plus.
• Fabrication experience.
• Must read blueprints with ease.
• Some experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role required.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems a plus.
• Building maintenance and upkeep, specializing in plumbing pneumatics, electrical.

Responsibilities

• Assist Maintenance team with troubleshooting and repairing plant equipment (mixers, batch plants, hydraulic systems, motors).
• Perform basic mechanical tasks: tighten bolts, change filters, lubricate equipment, replace worn parts.
• Support scheduled preventative maintenance and document work performed.
• Help maintain tools, spare parts inventory, and shop organization.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other plant equipment as trained.
• Assist with building maintenance tasks (plumbing, electrical, structural).
• Repair broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage.
• Address damaged electrical wiring or shortages as needed.
• Keep work areas clean and shop safe and organized.

American Concrete Products is a leading manufacturer of quality concrete products for various industries. We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable maintenance mechanic to join our team. The maintenance mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing forms, machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure smooth operations and maximize productivity.

Job Duties:

• Assist Maintenance team with troubleshooting and repairing plant equipment, including mixers, batch plants, hydraulic systems, and motors.
• Perform basic mechanical tasks such as tightening bolts, changing filters, lubricating equipment, and replacing worn parts.
• Support scheduled preventative maintenance activities and document work performed.
• Help maintain tools, spare parts inventory, and shop organization.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other plant equipment as trained.
• Assist with building maintenance tasks such as minor plumbing, electrical, and structural repairs.
• Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage
• Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
• Clean work areas, remove debris, and help ensure the maintenance shop and plant remain safe and organized.

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenace, mechanic and or industrial maintenance, in a plant environment utilizing lift equipment, overhead cranes, and air compressors.
• Experience working on diesel engines on heavy equipment preferred
• SMAW and MIG welding experience a plus
• Fabrication experience
• Must be able to read blueprints with ease
• Some experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role required
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems a plus
