Job summary

Rich Products Corporation is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic in Crest Hill, IL to ensure the efficient operation of plant equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic repairs and preventive maintenance.

The role requires 3-5 years of food processing experience, strong communication, and the ability to train associates. You will work with Rich’s SCADA system and support production while maintaining GMP and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in food processing with maintenance on production equipment and complex control systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to train other associates in maintenance operations.
  • Desire and ability to work as part of a self-directed work team.
  • Proficient on Rich’s SCADA system.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with electrical and logic principles.
  • Basic plumbing, metalworking, and facilities/building maintenance knowledge.
  • Awareness of safety guidelines (GMP and Food Safety).
  • Ability to contribute to Production Improvement and Temporary Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses all maintenance failures.
  • Uses drawings, P&IDs, manuals and PLC/SCADA knowledge to tune equipment for operation.
  • Performs plumbing and metalworking tasks as needed for facilities maintenance.
  • Interacts with devices such as gauges, RTD sensors, pressure transmitters and meters.
  • Trains new associates on required maintenance skills.
  • Maintains a safe, GMP-compliant work area and completes paperwork.
  • Operates Rich’s SCADA system and supports production with documentation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
  • Assists operations and operators with basic equipment troubleshooting.

Purpose Statement

The Maintanence Mechanic controls the efficient operation of all plant equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic repair and preventive maintenance


Key Accountabilities and Outcomes


  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses all maintenance failures.

  • Uses assembly drawings, P&ID’s and manuals to tune equipment for operation, uses electrical (VFD’s, SCR’s, motor starters) and logic (PLC, SLC) principles to solve equipment problems.

  • Uses basic plumbing, metal working and general facilities and building maintenance knowledge as needed.

  • Works with operating devices such as gages, RTD’s, pressure transmitters, I/P’s and vortex flow meters.

  • Trains new Associates and team members on required skill sets for Maintenance.

  • Maintains work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and Safety guidelines.

  • Operates Rich’s SCADA system and completes appropriate paperwork.

  • Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by Team Leader.

  • Will be required to work with and train operations Associates on basic equipment troubleshooting and assist operations as needed with production.


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience


  • Must have 3-5 years experience in food processing, working with standard troubleshooting and repair of production equipment with highly sophisticated control systems

  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Must have the ability to train other Associates in Maintenance operations

  • Must have the desire and ability to operate as a member of a Self-Directed work team

  • Must be proficient on Rich’s SCADA system

  • Must have general mechanical knowledge and electrical and logic principle knowledge

  • Has basic plumbing, metalworking and general facilities/building maintenance knowldege

  • Has an awareness of and the ability to follow Associate Safety guidelines

  • Has an awareness of and the ability to follow GMP and Food Safety guidelines

  • Understands proper machine operating and adjusting procedures

  • Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement and Temporary Teams, as assigned


COMPENSATION


In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.


Annual Range/Hourly Rate


$32.00-$42.00
