Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Northern Suburbs of Chicago (On-Site)

Pay Range: $50,000–$76,000 annually (based on experience)
Schedule: 2-2-3, 12-hour day shift (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM), including alternating weekends and select holidays
Overview:
Well-established plastics manufacturing company in the northern suburbs is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Mechanic to join its day shift operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience in fast-paced production environments, and the ability to maintain and repair a variety of plant systems and equipment.
Requirements:
A. 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment & should be proficient in troubleshooting:
B.. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery and facility systems (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic)
C. Perform preventive maintenance and complete PM documentation
D. Use various tools and diagnostic equipment for repairs and system evaluations
E. Fabricate and weld parts and components as needed (carbon steel, light machining)
F. Interpret and work from technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics
G. Maintain records and documentation of all work performed
H. Follow safety protocols and participate in environmental and sanitation guidelines
I. Assist in continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades
J.. Provide emergency support for breakdowns and urgent repairs
K. Able to operate machine shop tools: lathe, mill, drill press, grinder
L. Knowledge of ISO calibrations and preventive maintenance checklists
N. Forklift operation and certification (or ability to obtain)
